Background Options
Character backgrounds are a short summary of your character's life before the game begins. Largely, these backgrounds are just for role-play and for creating changes to the beginning of your play-through. They do offer some decent bonuses to your character, but nothing too overwhelmingly good, so don’t worry about your choice too much.
Permanently Poor
Requirements: None
Description: Growing up in a poor family, you never had much luck. Doing poorly at school and not being able to get a job, you were forced to live off of government assistance. Whilst this hasn’t done you many favours, the one thing you do know is how to live on a budget.
Benefits: -100 G.G.P daily upkeep, hygiene services only cost half.
Rich Drop-out
Requirements: None
Description: Despite coming from a wealthy family of genetic scientists you were personally far less successful. Flunking out of school and not being able to get a job, your parents wanted you to stand on your own two feet and you were forced to live off of government assistance. Thankfully, your family name still has some sway, allowing you some additional benefits.
Benefits: +5000 G.G.P starting money, bonus prestige at auction.
Cat-ian Family
Requirements: None
Description: With the advent of genetic manipulation came numerous sub-cultures and pop-up religions, one of them being the Cat-ian’s. A pseudo religion, your family believed that cat-girls would one day inherit the earth with their cuteness, getting modified to suit their beliefs before you were even born. Having a pair of cat ears and a matching tail from birth, you have a good idea how cat-people think and act.
Benefits: Resetting cat ears and cat tail mod, increased relationship with cat-girls (+50 relationship with cat-girl faction), increased cat-maid pay-outs (+200 G.G.P).
Crime Pays
Requirements: None
Description: Your family were from the slum districts and so were you. Life was tough, but that only made you tougher, turning to crime to make ends meet. This experience has left you with a very specific set of skills and a bad attitude to match them.
Benefits: +50 starting dominance, better pickpocketing outcomes.
Privileged and Pampered
Requirements: None
Description: Your family were part of the historic aristocracy, astoundingly rich to the point that life was simply wonderful for you growing up. Never having to work for anything has had its toll, leaving you poorly equipped to look after yourself, but with your family looking out for you how can you fail.
Benefits: +500 G.G.P gift every 3 days, bonus prestige at auction, lower complaint level by 1 every 3 days.
Makeover Artist
Requirements: None
Description: Clothing, makeup, hairstyles, they’ve always been such an amazing thing to you. Growing up, you loved nothing more than reading fashion magazines and trying out new looks. Over the years you’ve built up a unique talent and made quite a lot of contacts within the beauty and fashion industries who might be willing to help you out.
Benefits: 5 bonus random starting outfits, increased pay from makeover artist job (+200 G.G.P), free makeup training, free beauty goo resource gifts every 3 days.
Natural Submissive
Requirements: None
Description: When other people talked about what they wanted to be after graduating from school, you only had one answer, a sex slave.
